Last October, I took an unforgettable Rhine River cruise on the AMAMora and it was truly an amazing experience. The soothing, fascinating journey of an AMAWaterways river cruise was far less taxing than any overland trip. Every detail of the trip was carefully planned and executed, from the luxurious accommodation to the amazing food and activities. I felt truly relaxed and invigorated as I explored the stunning landscapes, historic cities, and quaint villages along the river. It was an incredible experience that I will never forget! The Onboard Experience on AMAWaterways
From the moment I stepped on board, I was treated like royalty. The bartender knew exactly how I liked my cocktail from the second time I ordered one and always began preparing it as I walked into the nightly cocktail party that AmaWaterways provides at no extra charge.
Every night, we went to sleep in one town and awoke in a new one, never having to worry about a train or bus schedule. No packing and unpacking—just being pampered and having fun.
The crew members were unfailingly polite and friendly, always asking what more they could do for us. Our cabin steward met our every request quickly and perfectly.
AMAWaterways river cruises adds so many perfect little touches. For example, they gave me free postcards I could send to my family and friends to make them jealous. And they even paid the postage and mailed them. Also, guests find a gift on their bed one evening. I won’t spoil the surprise but mine is beautiful.
Food and Tours
To top it off, we spent a glorious October day sailing through the stunning Rhine Valley while the crew handed out complimentary spiked coffee and delicious hot chocolate. What more could you want?
The food was excellent, with a delicious selection offered morning, noon, and night. There was a Chef’s Tasting Table one night. With every lunch and dinner, the wine and beer flowed freely without additional charge. Before dinner there was the complimentary Happy Hour.
Plus, we enjoyed fascinating local tours every day at no extra charge. We could always choose between gentle, moderate, and active levels of tours. Not to mention, there are bikes on board that guests can use at each port also at no charge.
More Ways AMAWaterways is Special
At one stop, I overhead two of the local guides talking between themselves. They both agreed they loved working with AMAWaterways the most because, as one said, “They treat their clients better than the other river cruise lines.”
The only hard thing about sailing with AMAWaterways river cruises is deciding if your next trip with them will be on the Danube, Rhine, Moselle, Main, Rhone, Seine, Garonne, Elbe, or Dordogne. Christmas Markets cruises are really special.
Maybe it will be the Nile or the Mekong or the Douro. Or maybe it will be Africa’s Chobe or Columbia’s Magdalena River.
