Traveling for the LGBTQ+ community can sometimes feel like a minefield. While it should never be this way, the reality is that safety and acceptance can vary quite wildly all over the world. One of the major advantages of working with a travel agent as members of the LGBTQ+ community is that we can research the safety of a region before you travel there. There are also LGBTQ+ focused options in certain areas around the world, including tours, cruises, and experiences designed with a focus on the LGBTQ+ community.
LGBTQ+ Cruises
LGBTQ+ cruising is a very large industry. Pretty much all the major cruise lines are LGBTQ+ friendly and are very welcoming. Celebrity Cruises has made a big push to capture the LGBTQ+ market, offering special LGBTQ+ events on the ship, huge pride parties on ship, and same-sex weddings performed by the ship’s captain.
In addition to the major cruise companies, there are a few very LGBTQ+ focused cruises. Atlantis Cruises caters to LGBTQ+ men, while Olivia Cruises caters to LGBTQ+ women. Both cruise lines typically try to make sure the entire ship is part of the LGBTQ+ community, so that everyone onboard can feel safe and free to be themselves.

Just like how finding LGBTQ+ safe countries can be a bit of a minefield, finding a resort or a tour to go to can also come with its own anxieties. Having a travel agent who can help pick through the vast numbers of companies to find one that is open and welcoming can help take that load off your shoulders.
