On Thursday September 24, 2026, Virgin Voyages, the scarlet draped adults only cruise line, announced that they are reviving their status match program. This brings some good news for sailors that have loyalty status with other cruise lines, hotels, and airlines. However, this offer won’t last forever and you’ll have to act quickly to take advantage.
What is this program all about?
When you sail with Virgin Voyages, you can join their Sailing Club, which is their loyalty program. By sailing multiple times with the Richard Branson backed company, you’ll earn benefits that you will receive when you are aboard their ships. The biggest perks are complimentary upgraded wi-fi, free laundry services, and even priority boarding (meaning that you’ll get on the ship faster! You’ll receive these benefits and more starting at your third sailing and you’ll get even more from your fifth sailing onward.
Here’s a breakdown of everything you’ll get.
Blue Extras Level (After Two Sailings or Status Match)
Blue Extras are perks for sailors on their 3rd or 4th sailing.
- 1 Coffee Credit per day (not eligible to use with room service AKA Ship Eats)
- 1 Laundry Bag (By the way, the laundry bags are BIG)
- An Exclusive Cocktail event
- Dedicated Sailor Services Support
Deep Blue Extras (DBE)
Once you reach your 5th sailing, you will have Deep Blue Extras. Your perks, include all the perks of Blue Extras, plus:
- Priority Boarding right after the Rockstars! Even if only one person has Deep Blue Extras, the entire party of people sharing the cabin may board together
- $100 Bar Tab credit. Each person in the cabin that qualifies for DBE gets the Bar Tab
- Premium Wi-fi. Everyone gets free wi-fi on Virgin, but there is an upcharge for premium. With Deep Blue Extras, you get free premium wi-fi
- Free Laundry Service including which includes 2 pressed items, 1 specialty-cleaned item and the big bag of laundry
- Two Coffee Credits Per Day (not eligible to use with room service AKA Ship Eats)
Temporary Status Match
Virgin Voyages has opened up an opportunity to folks with status on many other airlines, hotels, and cruise companies to receive a status match with Virgin. Here’s the offer from the Virgin Voyages website:
For a limited time, members from most airline and hotel programs – in addition to other cruise lines – are invited to apply for membership in the Virgin Voyages sailing club through our Status Match program. Once verified, you’ll receive an exclusive Access Key to add when you book your next voyage. This unlocks VIP perks, Blue Extras, that kick in when you set sail.
After that voyage, the standard Sailing Club journey applies, with Blue Extras returning on the third sailing and Deep Blue Extras awaiting those who keep coming back aboard.
In other words, if you’ve got status one on of the accepted programs, you’ll get to enjoy one voyage with Blue Extras. After that, you’ll earn your status normally. This program is for new sailings only and you must apply for it by October 31, 2026.
